What did you all think of president Bush's speech giving Suddam and sons 48 hours to leave Iraq?

My first question was.."Since he has to leave, where would Saddam go?" And then it came to me--France :bash

Personally, If the President feels like there is immediate threat, he is honor bound to mitigate that risk. If we really go to war, we'd better go w/ all guns blazing meant to finish things quickly w/ a minimal loss of american troops. Clinton gave me my fill of lackluster, nearly pointless military action.

exactly.

remember sept. 11th? after that, people were questioning why we didnt know ahead of time and prevent it.

now that we are actually doing something proactively instead of defensively, we get a bunch of people complaining about going in there and getting business done.

I, for one, support our troops and the president 100% on this.

thx Dang i agree with you

I can sympathize with people protesting the war in the past, i agree war should be avoided when possible, i just hope that everyone puts down their differences right now and stands behind our soldiers.
I have very good friends that will see combat and as confident as I am with our superior force It still scares me that my best friend might be subjected to gases & bio weapons.

I did not hear or read about the speech at all, though I did read the headlines. I am behind the commander in chief, no matter what, so the speech is irrelevant to me. If he's says to go, I will go.

Yup, now is the time to stand behind the forces and the president, even if you dont agree with the war.

I agree as well, everything should be done to resolve things peacefully. I believe everything that could be done has been done diplomatically, with no results.

I hope things go well for everyone over there.

I have been siding with Bush on this one for as long as it has been a topic of consern. Saddam has been biting his thumb at us for 12 years, and we have sad by idle doing nothing. He is a threat to those near him and us (and not to mention the fact that him being a threat to those near to him, is a threat to us ;)).

I personally do not understand why some people are protesting the war. People seem to think that we went from nothing to war in a matter of a month. News flash: we have been doing things peacefully for 10 years now (and when Clinton took military action at times, no one seemed to notice). So, 10 years of peaceful negotiations have given us nothing, time for force, no?
