Everytime I open up Internet Explorer, my computer either locks up or I receive muliple error messages. The messages usually say the following:
File Name: IFSMGR(04) +00015D07 Error:0E: 0028:C02C0263
An exceptation 0E has occured at 0028:C000D81A in VxD VMM(01)+0000C81A. This was called from 028:C00A4980 in VxD VKD(01)+ 00000640. It may be possible to continue normally.

I am also recieving messages that say: Error 0E:0028:FF100993 or Error: 0E:0028:00F0100 File name:VFAT(01)=00004FAA Error:0E:0028:C0044A9A

or

Register has caused an error in URLMON.dll Register will now close
QAGENT has caused an error in TRACKER.dll QAGENT will now close

Sometimes, when I click on a link, the computer will restart. The computer runs fine when running any other software (games, Word, Excel, etc). Only when running IE do I have a problem.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

My system consists of the following:

Giga-byte 7DXR
1.1 Thunderbird
512 DDR (Crucial)
2 40GB harddrives in RAID configuration
Linksys LAN card
Cable Modem
Soundblaster Value card

have you tried performing a search in http://support.microsoft.com

Amazing what kind of strange strange results searches can bring up :D

1. Which IE...
I had the same problem with 5.0, go to 5.5 or 6.
If nothing ELSE, go to the UPDATE site, select Downloaded STUFF. Have it REMOVE your IE.. THEN reinstall.
I did a DIRTY trick...I install IE from Earthlink...It REinstalled everything, and MADE it work.

I wonder... Last files you DLed from UPDATE...DirectX???

I recently installed Mozllia. It works great and is now my default browser!!!

http://www.mozilla.org/

Did you hear about the problems with IE security?

http://www.verisign.com/support/vendors/browseralert.html

Mozzilla doesn't have these problems. It iis also alot less bloated than Netscape 6. It loads alot faster, on par with IE. I am used to it now. I suggest you ditch IE all together.

Wish you could KILL IE from the system, but you cant.
It IS windows. even MORE in XP.
It would be nice to do, as it would DROP 15-30 megs off the system.
