Over at computersurplusoutlet.com (http://www.computersurplusoutlet.com/viewproduct.asp?ProductID=MUL-691USB) they have the Benwin 2pc USB Speakers (http://www.computersurplusoutlet.com/viewproduct.asp?ProductID=MUL-691USB) for free, and all you have to do is pay for shipping.

...I don't think I could live with just two speakers...lol

I think its a bit stupid to USE USB for audio.
Why take up a port when you have an AUDIO OUT, that is a STANDARD.
Lets see,
1 usb for the scanner
1 usb for your camera
1 usb for you Net work
1 usb for internet chatting video input
usb this that and the other thing, and you want to put a pair of speakers on that SAME channel.
Forget that bedwin is one of the CHEAPEST companies on the market.
I have so many things to put on a USB, that speakers just wouldnt even be considered.

Heard from a friend about this company:

"Recently ordered a batch of 1.1 GHz Intel Celerons from these guys at the unbeatably low price of $48 each. I was skeptical about delivery of these 1.1 GHz CPUs at that price, but within several weeks the UPS guy came calling with a package from CSO full of CPUs.

I was so happy I did not even complain that CSO charged me nearly 60% more than the agreed upon shipping price at the time of order.

Unfortunately, despite a detailed search of the CSO website, I could find no other good CSO deals at the time. In conclusion, most of CSO's offerings are overpriced, but there sometimes can be a good deal found, and watch out for the shipping costs."

Update to last post, #1 (some people should really stop smoking that stuff, it does affect your memory):

"About CSO. I forgot to include one minor detail. After negotiating the deal and settling on a shipping charge, CSO sent an email detailing and confirming the agreement. CSO's confirmation indicated the 60% increase in shipping charges - I simply failed to note it. So you might say that they did provide notification - which means that now we are evaluating sufficiency of notice."

I never trust ant retailer who cannot provide the manufacturers part #. Why would this be unavailable?

Thank you, CSO

That is all I got, period. No information at all flagging the 60% increase in shipping charges. No information indicating what I should do if I wish to cancel the order. For all intents and purposes it poses as a simple confirmation of the original order.

When first received, I did check the line item product to verify they were as ordered. Over the years I have never before run across a case of a company unilaterally changing a shipping charge from what was stated at time of purchase. So I do not as a rule verify the shipping charges.

A further piece of info. One of the floppy drive pulls is in the most sorry state I have ever seen any hardware pull in. It might even be non-functional, I have not had the time to verify the non-functionality as of yet. But preliminary tests indicate it to be non-functional.

CSO are not good guys to do business with. I buy lots of pulls and used stuff and the floppy drives are the worst I have yet seen. The Celeron CPUs are in very good shape and are functional per my brief testing of them. If you must do business with them, check each thing in detail. "

So that's it, I'm not buying from them.

We created a forum under the Designtechnica category called "tech files" Please post this in there too so people know your experience with them. ECA had a good idea to create a kind of reseller ratings thread that we can all use.

Thanks!
