Seems like you said it all til I came along. Newegg is pretty cool for most things computer related. They have been very good at filling all my orders over the years and their prices are usually one of the best. Others compare for various reasons, but newegg is a great site IMHO.

I bought an MSI motherboard from Newegg one time. It turned out to be bad, so I sent it back and asked for them to credit my card. They tried to charge me a restocking fee of 15%. I called them up and told them how angry I was " You are not RESTOCKING this motherboard because it is defective, therefore there is NO FEE" and they took it off. Other than that I have been happy with them.

Got a call from work yesterday and the guy said that the order we placed through newegg (we ordered from work) seemed to have been cancelled, because he just checked the bank account and they credited back the money for our order.

And he said that they didn't send us any notice or anything...he said he would call me back today to let me know if he found otu anything.

I can't shop at NewEgg. I just feel really weird, sicne when they were Egghead.com, they had that massive database breach where someone stole 10000 or so credit card numbers. Only reason I remember it is it happened two days after I ordered something from there. Luckily, mine didn't get nabbed. But I still feel a little cautious now....

i thought it was. Egghead was on its own "back in the day", then they went bankrupt adn i think got bought out by Amazon. i always assumed it, since the signs looked the same and Egghead disappeared about 6 months before New Egg emerged...

Perpahps the same people that worked on the egghead site decided that their egg fetish had yet to be satisfied. Probably the most expensive part of owning your own reseller site is the warehouse to store everything in. It could be the case that some rich d00d bought the old egghead place and decided to pay a little tribute. We will never know .... unless we email / call them. :D

We have, or use to have, a Babbages in our mall.. However, recently the name has changed to Game Stop. I have come to the conclusions that they just changed their retail store name to match their on-line store name.. Becuase when the name was babbages, and you went to babbages.com it would call it's self Game Stop. So, I simply think they just changed names, not bought out..

WOW!!!!!!!!!!!!

The best ever I have dealt with. Mainly the reason I love newegg is information. They have reviews and links to photos of the products they sell as well as the makers site as well as rating system and customer feedback. They also offer extended warranties, shipping is ultra fast and cheap, thier sales are great, and so far I have dealth with the customer service 3 times and each time the experience was great and my issues were handle immediately. I cannot complain about them.

Seems everyone loves newegg.com. I suggest if you are in the market for computer parts go there. You will not be dissappointed!
