If you're looking for alternative way to upgrade your video card drivers in 200A5, Here a great tip: Wait or complain to vprmatrix.

I know the thread where someone posted the link to some other maker's notebook drivers that utilizes the same Geforce4 420 go and 15.2" 1280*854 resolution screen. One of them actually have a 3.2.0.0 driver (the 200A5 has 3.0.8.2 driver) If you try to install them, it will not work. Period. If you're curious, look at the nv**.inf file. Not only the name is different, (nvmt.inf for gericom site, and nvqu.inf for vprmatrix) but the contents are different as well. Just beacuse they have a same Graphic chip doesn't mean they have the same drivers. Geforce Go series drivers is unique to makers.

I suggest you wait until vprmatrix eventually update the drivers or start a campaign or something to urge them to update.

I hate to burst your bubble but the average Joe's PC that tries to use the install program will not get it to work. You must manually go to the video adaptor and upgrade manually.

Apparently, you don't play with video card drivers very much. ( Not to be degrading) Everyone of the drivers I mentioned will work and do, because I have done it. You just have to install it without using the install routine. This is common practive in the video driver community when drivers are used. Just point to the inf file regardless as to what the name is.

Maybe I should have sayed this in my message, but you should have asked (Solgae1784) how to get them to work. Becareful not to jump to conclusion. I can write a little guide if you are interested. I actually use the 3.2.0.0 instead of the original.

Unzip the driver pack to a location on your pc. Perhaps called Video_driver_3200 or what ever

Just go to display settings---settings--advanced, the video adaptor tab and go to properties , click on the driver tab, choose update driver.
Than choose install from a specific location, locate the dircetory and you will find the inf file. If several devices are mentioned use the top one.

This will install the driver with no problems.

Many times the install routine does not work on all PC. This method always works.

I hope this helps others. I don't mean to send bad but these do work.

Just to add another thought. Because Geforce and ATI drivers are now written to work for all of their respected family of video cards, the only major difference is the inf file which have certain switches for resolutions and sometimes gaming switches (allof which can be changed easily). The drivers for laptops such as the radeon mobility or geforce family have only a few different lines added that contain the geforcego or radeonmob listed. You can actually make any driver Nvidia makes work for the laptop by changing the inf file. the problems comes from the fact that laptop screen have a native resolution which are sometimes special or different than the standard. Nvidia or ATI allow the laptop maker to write the inf file for their particular card. If a laptop has the same card and same standard resoltion in the case 1280X854 and a gerforce4 go, than it will work. Sometimes you must go the manual method to install.

Thanks for your guide. While I will try your method, I really think vprmatrix should focus little more on updating drivers.

If you have any problems let me know. I do agree, VPR Matrix should update thier drivers considering Nvidia has released versions 43.**

They also need to put a date and a version on their driver site.
How are you to know if it is updated without downloading it.

I got cable also, but hate downloading and seeing that it is the same file it has been.

That is why I have been looking at other sites which at least have dates.
