Personally I have never liked LexMark printers. I think they are cheaply constructed and have poor image quality. BUT I also think that the ink jet printer market is a joke. Sure they are good for color output, but for black and white, get a laser and save some money. At $35-$50 a pop, ink cartidges are not worth it.

I also think that Dell is reaching a glass ceiling and looking for other financial opportunities via printers and PDA's. Let's face it, the computer market is slowing down and margins are slim.

not that Im a PPC fan, or a Dell fan for that matter, but they did strike gold with their PDAs. Maybe they are just trying many new things ;)

"Can only buy ink from ther online store"

Good job on pointing that out. That can be a hastle for many people, especially us college students. We do a lot of high volume printing and more than likely, we have all ran out of ink at the wrong moment. If it weren't for our local office supply stores, then we'd be in up the creek w/o a paddle.

This would be a big inconvenience for everyone if the only source for ink replenishment is through their online store.

One advantage that I would say in the Dell purchasing process is that you can send back your "old" unit for recycling. A lot of European countries are now requiring computer and peripheral manufactures to make their products out of greener materials or facilitate recycling.
