Personally I would not doubt it if this is a complete scam and they are just trying to get money out of the franchise. I mean lets look at the process. Worker open fires bax, pulls out plastic bag, dumps fries in the cooker, cooks them, scoops them up and puts them in the carton to serve. Where does the razor blade come into play? Opening the box or bag MAYBE but I am willing to bet that when it comes to food handling, razor blades are not common practice.

Thoughts?

Well, it sounds like McD's said it happened, due to this quote:
"This unfortunate, isolated incident occurred inadvertently during routine maintenance of the equipment," Schwartz stated, noting that Ball was given the same information. "Fortunately, no one was injured."

But, I think she's trying to sue saying they didnt cooperate enough or something.

I am very suspicous of this. Another thing that makes me think they are just out for money is this quote as well:
Harper said her husband Ken -- a "self-employed" real estate broker -- and her son haven't been back to McDonald's since finding the blade

Come on..."Self-employed" real estate broker"??? He's freakin jobless and they are looking for a quick buck. How many "self-employed" real estate brokers are out there?

I know if i was working for mcdonalds ,wether frying the fries or bagging them to be shipped, i might find it easy to hurt my company by slipping in a razor blade and hoping it doesnt get noticed. and there are ALOT of people who dislike McDonalds.

I still like the woman who sued Burger King (was it?) about burning herself with her hot coffee.
