Well, its old news, that Sony said they would buy PalmSource if the chance came up.

Which brings the question. Is this a good or bad thing?

Sony would be able to bring A LOT of money into the PalmOS. Problem is, Sony is A LOT like Microsoft (the difference between Sony and Microsoft is that Sony makes good products ;)). - and would this attempt to force Sony's proprietary stuff (Memory Stick, etc...). But you never know, Sony is usualy only a ***** when it comes to MP3 (because Sony Electronics kicks ass, but Sony Music sucks ass).

I suppose in the end Sony buying Palm, for me, wouldnt be a bad thing. I have been Sonytized for a good 5 years now, and I dont mind paying the "extra-money" for Sony products, because I know I am getting "extra" quality... (save for that 512mb MSPro for $548, WTF IS THAT!, thats more than my PDA was! GOD!)... anyways....

I hear that. I think its odd how sony works against its self, (music ind. fighting mp3s and cd copying, while the hardware half sells burners mp3 players ect.) With all of this in mind I think that sony would change palm source so very much, at least, hopefully not.:(

I sure hope they don't, the less good stuff that Sony owns the better off everyone will be! Apple should buy Palm!!

Sony plus Palm=god. It is a shame that Sony pulled the plug on their own Linux based software development. I was really hoping they would go somewhere with that. Palm's new OS is sweet from what I can hear and I am sure it is even sweeter in the Sony Clie's.
