Nero + XP = I'm Screwed... reboots.. ??

my life is sucking.

My pc reboots everytime I try to run Nero. Im using win XP. I just bought a new burner last night. I had previosly been using an old version of Nero that would work, but the new burner wouldnt get recognized. So I tried installing the past 3 versions of Nero. All of them reboot my PC about 5 seconds after I click on the icon.

what to do.. i dunno.. anyone got any info on this? this is not fun

Do you have the NEWEST driver for the Burner. WHAT burner.
Do you have the NEWEST NERO, as ALOT of progs that work for Windows DONT work under XP.
Check for FIRMWARE updates to the burner, and maybe to your BIOS.
ALSO, turn off AUTO detect for music, on the BURNER.........

nero always runs funny for me on XP. of course XP sucks so i'm back to win2k

Honestly I've never had a single problem using Nero with XP. I wish I had some suggestions for ya but I dont. I don't know if I'm just lucky for not having any problems or what. Sorry man

Me neither. Here is a list of CD burning programs I use on Windows XP, all installed at the same time:


Nero
Easy CD Creator
Fire Burner
CloneCD
CDRWIN
Disc juggler

The only problem I have had is getting ASPI drivers installed. Once I get those installed everything works fine.

I would try using a different burner, or calling up the tech support for the drive.

I've been using Win XP Pro SP2 with Nero 5.5 no probs until this week after some XP updates, now I have the same problem, system just reboots so will have to try another burner
