I just bought a new HD Portable Radio which uses a 3.5 plug to hear it through the Alpine. Does anyone know if there is a way to hook this up? If so can you explain. Thanks, Marty
Sounds like you just need a 3.5 line in/out wire?
you you have a RADIO to plug into a radio??
This has a plug in the back AInet connector.. it requires an adapter.
ECA,
I think he bought a portable HD (High Definition) radio, and wants to plug it into his car's head unit (Alpine).
Correct me if I'm wrong Martyrl.
Your head unit would need to have a line in.

I know about the Ai-Net connection. Do I have to remove the Radio to get at the connector. I guess you just need another adapter to connect the 2 rca plugs to 3.5 mini plugs. Will that allow me to hear the radio through the car speakers. If I want to listen to the Car Radio do I have to disconnect the Ai-Net plug or is that like an aux in the head units menu.
AInet is part of the AUX.
By the look its mounted in the back of the radio.
WHAT digital radio did you get, as the car radio has XM/SERIUS, already.

It was a Insignia portable HD Radio. The radio turned out to be lousy. It only recieved some stations and it kept cutting out. I think I will just change my Alpine for a new HD Alpine radio. Thanks to all for being so helpful and for taking part in my problem. Marty
I can suggest that you look for a device that has a Phone jack in the front, to allow direct plug in of any loose devices. rather then having a BACK plug in, which can only be moded to certain devices.
Yup, i agree with ECA. A line-in/headphone jack in front will help if you ever want to hook up another device as well.
