I received my 8500 Inspiron order from Dell this morning. I was planning on exchanging my 200A5 for 8500.:P

After running several simple test (Screen, Audio, etc), I surprisingly come to conclusion that 200A5 is a KEEPER!

Inspiron 8500
Good:
- Design (I know its a little bulkier but it feels that will last longer than my 200A5)
- Screen (WUXGA 64MB nVidia) I know....I know... its not fair comparing WXGA 32MB with WUXGA 64MB. But I can surely felt the difference!
- Screen wide, I like 15.4" better than 15.2". somehow it gives me extra widerness and less black bars when I played my LordOfTheRings DVD.
- 5400rpm, yes this is trully a must for those who wants to run application faster than ever. I was amaze!
- Non Slot Loading CD. Altho its nice to have slot loading on 200A5 but its just too noisy for me.
- Dell Wireless. It beats 200A5 wireless obviously.
- its CHEAPER!!
- Dell has more common parts anywhere, C'Mon seriously, I'm still worried what happened if I need some parts in the future which no one carries especially after VPR decide to stop notebook lining and it seems dead to me. VPR company just worries me.

Bad
- TICKING SOUND, I mean OMG I can't help it everytime i play a song or any media, it just ticks like crazy in the beginning and at the end. In one point, it almost smokes my BOSE tweeter. GEZZ One hella serious prolem from Dell. They need to fix this badly.
- The 8500 sound quality is not that good either compare to 200A5 Sonopur.

- Yea That's it!

For me audio is a vital point, so if you can live with that annoying ear damaging ticking sound, get a Dell. I'm returning mine.

For now, I'm happy with my 200A5 thanks to sonopur. altho I still curious at the 96/192 setting. Wish they have a light indicator or something.

I'll just wait till I receive my Satellite Pro 6100 Order :D :D
