I just got Dishnetwork installed, should I do a review of it? I was thinking about an article on digital satellite (i.e dishnetwork/directv) versus digital cable. Maybe I should do both. Would people be interested?

Well satellite IS digital, I assume you mean HDTV satellite. I do not have the HDTV satellite because the cost for equipment is too high and there were only 2 stations with HD when I bought the setup.

Enhhh... I think most people are aware of satellite, the comparason between it and digital cable would just be a rehash of your "digital cable sucks" article

Psst:
Sat. is NOT Digital... Digital sat. IS.
The biggest difference is SIZE of dish, and COST of service.
SAT, is FREE, unless you want Scrambled channels such as the playboy channel. DIGITAL SAT. is a service, that you PAY for the rest of your life, if you want it, or cant hack it.
CABLE TV is SENT threw SAT(mostly) and depending on the reciever heads, depends on what you GET.
Three heads NOW, K band, c band, and digital.
AS with Cell phones there is MORE analog signals then Digital. And with SAT you can Scan the world, signals from europe, to japan... Digital is focused and you ONLY get the signal you are paying for.
SAT is so easy to descramble that it is easy to say, ITS FREE.

ECA, I could hit you over the head with a mallet :bash ! You know what I meant! I changed the original post to be more specific. I hope it is specific enough for you.

Ioman...
Go ask someone that has updated to Digital, they would LOVE to get rid of that dish..FOR FREE.......
If nothing else, come over here, I probably can get you 5 or 6 of them FREE.
there IS one constrant... they must have a Clear Vantage to the south and West. NO trees in the way. And they dont fit on your roof.
Go by any cable company, and look what they use....

Dish Network REALLY sucks.

So much so, I wrote a letter to them using PlanetFeedback.com

And it sort of worked. PlanetFeedback is good for useful venting towards companies...

Why do you think Dishnetwork sucks? I just got it installed a few weeks ago and I love it.

Ioman, I would be interested in reading your review when you do it.

I actually have both DishNetwork and Directv installed at the house. And having had digital cable from AT&T once, I can say that any Sat is better than cable. I would prefer to have the big c-band dish, but that would require chopping too many trees down.

Between Dish and Directv , I prefer Dishnetwork. 2 Reasons for this,

1. They have the Spanish Playboy channel, and much better pr0n in general.

2. More fun to hack.

Other than that both systems really don't have a huge difference in available programming.

:D
