Netbios is only useful for print/file sharing nowadays, and even then if you enable netbios and expose yourself on the net without a firewall, you're just asking for it.

Likewise :) But what makes me a bit more pleased is that I'm one of the few people (at least 'round these parts) who sets up something hardware... between your internet connection and you... not just software on that machine :)

I really believe in hardware solutions not just zone alarm running on that particular machine.

yeah, hardware all the way. If i was going to run a software firewall as well, i'd run ZoneAlarm, because I like it, it works well, and my hardware firewall is supposed to work well with it.
