I"m pretty experienced in using projectors for home theater.

Check out the Sony VPL-CS5

1800 Lumens, 5 lbs, sony quality (amazingly nice looks), motorized lens cover etc. etc. Street prices around $1450 and has a rebate or free lamp right now.

BenQ (Acer) SL703S, DLP, 3lbs, 1100 Lumens, Street Price around $1250.

Both accept HDTV Component Video cables and have 2000 hour bulbs.

I use the Sony for my home theater with the lights on. A feat few projectors can handle.

What about DVI support? I noticed that a lot of the new high-end DVD players are supporting DVI output. Have you had a chance to try this out?

BTW, welcome to the Designtechnica forums.
