First off I want to say hi to everybody as this is my first time posting here. This a great site for a beginner like myself.
I recently purchased the JMLab 806 STEC and the matching 800STEC center. After hooking everything up to my Denon AVR 2803 I found that music sounds very dull and flat coming through these speakers, almost muffled even after I took the grill off. Now I know it may be the sound acoustics of the room but I was going to try out the M&K setup and see if this sounds any better.
In your opinions, how do you feel about these two sets of speakers. Do you think I paid a high price for the JM setup because of the name or are they a good set of speakers? I'm really confused as to what I should do.
BTW I'm using a 150 watt, 12 inch down firing Infiniti sub. I can't remember the model number off hand. Even when I turn the sub off the JM's sound like they lack some punch.
