Wow... I've been looking and pricing these things forever... the best part of an MP3 player would be this; I have a cord (sometimes they are hard to come by) that hooks little things into, say, a stereo CD player. If I could get something like this, I would be able to listen to hours upon hours of music on my large stereo w/ the video/aux mode!
Your article didn't really say if it came w/ a AC adapter... if it doesn't this means a 20+ dollar purchase (if it's not a popular voltage / plug style)... Also is it widely available yet or is it brand new and only available from the manufacturer? (btw; I can't spell, so...)

I have absolutely no idea what you're talking about in the first paragraph. But, It does come with the A/C adapter, and is widely availible.
but the best feature, is the 8 min anti shock..
Really.
Because you can get an adaptor that will send the audio to the radio.

I only wish this would have come before I got a CD player for my car. I wasn't about to spend upwards of $400 for a cd player that can play mp3's :( Damn... my tape player could have provided me with ample music afterall:drool :curse

I agree with you there ECA. After having dealt with trying to use lesser portable cd players while moving, I know what an asset 8 minutes of antishock provides.

Are you sure its 8 minutes and not 8 seconds shock protection? Thats like loading 2-3 songs into memory before they even play.

didnt you write the article??? Or did you cut and paste...
Lets see, 8-16 megs internal would be all you needed for 8 minutes...A cheap addon..

I've noticed my SlimX remembers the last song playing from any CD I had played in it before? (Is this some unique feature?) For example if I put in a Korn CD and play song 2, stop the song, and switch to another CD like System of Down song 5, stop this song and put the Korn CD back in the player, the player will start playing at the same song 2.
I found the best deal at www.9software.com they offer free cdr's with the slimx. Wonder why! (haha)

Have there been any firmware upgrades on the SlimX lately? I would love to see more support for other audio formats.
