View Full Version : Nokia 5100 Phone Review
Checkout our latest review of the Nokia 5100 Phone (http://reviews.designtechnica.com/review67.html)Based on the Series 40 platform the 5100 shares many common functions with the Nokia 7210, 6610 and 6100 series phones. The exterior design of the 5100 is out of this world.

Talk about cordless and portable phone sex :D
Anyway, I have to say that the phone is ugly. I never liked the design conscience styling of the new phones (typical form over function).
I still have to say, I miss my Nokia 6190 :sure

So does anyone think the Calorie burn application, Flash light, temperature gauge and sound meter are features you would actually use!?
I might use the flashlight, but I would worry about it sucking up my phones battery.

I just flip open my phone and it works as a flash light to begin with ;)

Maybe the flashlight, but I'd have to say that the backlight on my PDA or the backlight for my clamshell pager works okay as a weak flashlight :)
heh... just think, using the sound meter to monitor someone else talking on his/her cell phone and give them evidence that they are talking too loud :P
edit: fixed your open tags ;-)

Yeah, I really can't understand why someone would be looking for a sound meter in a phone--why? Why?!? I don't get it. Someday I can see phone manufacturers adding special "Ear Cleaning" adapters to slide over exposed antennae, stupid.

The sound meter is most likely a small and simple application to show the sound level that is already being used by the phone to automatically adjust the volume based on abient sound levels...
So, we got a few k left on the rom, what can we squeeze in?

I just wish the phone had Bluetooth capabilities.

Without a doubt... I'm more puzzled why they left blue tooth out than putting the other crap in. BT is pretty cheap, and offers a great many functions.
They could have ditched the IR port and headset port and just brought out a bunch of BT gear.

I'd rather see IR go and still have the headset jack since Bluetooth headsets are still fairly expensive compared to a corded headset.
