Has anyone tried the new drivers? My brother swears they are a lot better, but I cannot tell a difference.

I have the 40.xs installed. they're great! 1000 point bonus in 3dmark, and the control panel is TOP NOTCH.

You are telling me they sped up your video card and frame rate THAT MUCH? Maybe this is Nvidia's way of combatting ATI until their new chip is out. Were our video cards capable of faster speeds all along and we simply did not know this?

that's always the deal with nVidia cards. they're pure potential, and nVidia's driver team works to find new ways to tap into it.

At least, thats my opinion. But with new dets out all the time, and the benchmark comparasons between det versions...

One aspect of the 3dmark improvement that i liked...

on the 30.x official dets, i would run the Nature demo (game 4) at about 30-40 fps. Now, i run it around 70fps, with speeds sometimes over 100fps. That's that I call improvement.

What control panel? I have them installed and I haven't found any control panels...

Display Properties > Settings Tab > Advanced > (model of your card) Tab. Notice there is only one, nVidia stuck all your favorite configuration panels, added a few, and put them all on one convenient tab.

yea i installed the new drivers and counter-strike went from 77fps consistently to 99fps almost always...........pretty amazing......im using a geforce 3 by the way.........

oh, yeah, forgot to mention i'm using a GeForce4 Ti4200

I have a Geforce 2 Ultra 64mb and I cannot really tell a difference in framerates. At first I thought the game was moving faster, but then I noticed that not only was it a little faster, but it seemed jerkier.

I guess anything to do with video cards or video games will do well. We always want our entertainment.

New 40.xs are out. Check out [url]www.nvidia.com./url] I've installed them, and good news! These have the option to fix XP's refresh rates in games! No longer will I have to deal with using 60Hz for games!!

if you have a Geforce 3 (assuming the original), then that card should have been able to pump out a rock-solid unwavering 99fps on Half-life (and mods) w/ the crappy drivers.

You had something else bottlenecking your card my friend (ram, cpu, hard drive).

I just installed the latest NVIDIA drivers as of Sept 27th. My Tac Ops is way too choppy now, how can I fix this?

Maybe try reinstalling old drivers ? They should be somewhere on the net. Heck I probably have a copy laying around here somewhere.
