Didn't exactly knowq where to stick this thread, so I figured General would be safe:D With Halo getting ready to make an apperance on the PC platform soon, does anybody know what the system requirements are for it? I was greatly dissappointed when it first came out only on the X-Box, but now that it is finally here, I'm worried if my old clunker has the balz to run it. Here are the specs on the 'ole girl. Someone please let me know?

outdated 677mhz. celeron
outdated 192meg sdram
outdated Diamond Stealth S540 pci vid card with 32 meg ram

Thanks all.

Crap...just found the electronics section here for...well nevermind..my bad:o . Would the mod mind moving this over to that section?

Dude I hear ya man. I will be waiting until Doom 3 and Halo come out for the PC. Once I see the minimal specs, I will get a new video card and system upgrade which is well above their recommended settings. Then I will kick some major bootie!!:P

I doubt halo will really push your system that hard unless they do some serious updates to the engine. Think about it this way, if you system specs are better then an XBox, then your system should have no probs.

Never really thought of it that way. What does an x-box run on? A 400 isn't it? That can't be right. I have the feeling that the minimun specs will be more in line with UT2003 (which I can run...but at low res)

Xbox has a 733mhz I believe. I wouldn't go by the specs though because Xbox would be able to do a lot more than a PC with the same stuff. Anyway, I think you'll probly be able to play the game... but you might as well upgrade :D . You could get a MUCH better video card for under $100, but of course that'd do no good without a better processor, which requires a new mobo....and then you'd want new ram.....ah screw it, good luck.

I say, save a grand and buy a new system.

Get a new Canterwood or Springdale board (almost the same specs as canterwood, but cheaper), a new Intel CPU with 800MHz FSB and Hyper Threading, 512MB memory, Serial ATA drive and a Radeon 9800 PRO vide card.

I will be building a system similar to this when the new games comes out.
