Why does my IE save pictures as untitled.bmp?

For some reason my internet explorer is saving pictures as untitled.bmp instead of in .jpg format. How can I fix this?

If you right click the pic, it comes up with SAVE AS..
You can add a NAME and below that, change the format...
IF you didnt change the FORMAT, it will be saved as BMP..

Stil not working. It will not let me save it as anything other than .bmp format.

Nope.

I have switched to Netscape 7 for the time being until I can get this solved. I would do a full reinstall of IE if I had too and if I knew how.:(

If you find out let me know... best I can say is windows update and hope that a lotta items are out of date and/or insecure :)

go to windows UPDATE...
Let it look for updates... the screen will have a button, INSTALLED components, click it.
If IE is listed, you can have it UNINSTALL IE, and then reinstall it..

Ok, here is how I fixed it. I opened the browser, went to tools/internet options, clicked on the program tab and then clicked on "reset web settings". Now everything works fine. The only thing I can think of that caused this was another program I installed associating itself with web picture formats.
