Several groups of 1337 H4x0r has managed to install Linux on the X-Box, the ultimate 'stick-it-to-da-man' demonstration of 5k1Llz.

Here's the most advance demonstration to date: http://xbox-linux.sourceforge.net/screenshots.php

Now, when they succeeded in releasing a bootable CD with Linux and a player supporting DVD, xVCD and Divx, the X-Box will become a great HTPC.

On a side note, does anyone know if you could play Divx on a PS2? I need a cheap (<$200), compact and quiet HTPC cause I don't want to fire up my PC just to play Divx...
