Okay, I have 1gb of Corsair 3200 memory 2x512, and I have been looking all over for a 1gb stick to put in my third slot, but I cannot find ANY. All people have now are some gay "dual channel! 2x512mb" bull...shoes... I just want a 1gb stick of memory, preferably Kingston, Corsair, etc...

Can anyone help? ;)

I just left this website. They have 1gig sticks listed. Here's the exact address. http://www.cpu4u.com/memory.html
Scroll a little down the page to find it. Hope this helps.

Glad to see you keep your word Archon. You are a noble and fine specimen. Indeed, your sense of humor is sublime. I don't know. Perhaps you can explain it to me one day. If you are still answering me that is....

Well my dear friend Archon if you weren't talking to me when you posted that reply who were you talking to? You and I were the only ones even in the equation at that point. At least go back and read the posts before you make yourself look like a total genius. I suppose you may have been addressing your schizophrenic pal on the forum. I don't know.

And hey, I never said I didn't like the dancing women avatars. LOL.

NO. I am tired of having to deal with such a shining example of an idiot.

You remind of the type of person who would get nominated for, and win "Burden to our Generation" in his yearbook. Someone who thinks he is important or "cool" or whatever the fruit... you think you are, simply because you are able to be a...jerk over such a stupid thing as to helping me find a 1gb module of memory.

From what I can tell, you have the intelligence of the thing being smoked your his portrait, and if you do not stop pushing me, little fa..rfinuggen, I will tell you what I really think of you, and likely get deleted in the process.

Now then,

can anyone help me find a 1gb memory module?

I have seen several lately but they have been OEM chips for Dell or HP and they were priced at well over $1K - pretty steep. For example, HP has a "266MHz 1 GB DDR SDRAM Memory Module 1024 MB" part number 314114-B25 for laptops, and they're asking $1999 for it!

I heard Crucial had one listed for about 3 days and then pulled it - I don't know why, and I haven't had any luck finding one on their site.

Yeah, well, I thought I was the only one getting spewed at by sm till I saw you take one for the gipper...

By the way, what would currently be a "good" price for a 1GB notebook chip? I'll keep an eye out for you.

$1999 for a 1 gig stick? Do you have a link for this? I would like to peruse this for myself. I have a friend in the market for a 1 gig stick. He's been looking for a few days now. I desperately wish to help him. Please supply a link nedlyj. I would greatly appreciate this my friend. And godspeed to the both of you.

Kingston has 1GB 400MHz DDR PC3200 sticks, but they are very pricey. $572.00 per stick. You can check it out at www.kingston.com.

This is the Kingston 1GB stick mentioned
Corsair doesn't make a 1GB stick at the customer level

http://www.18004memory.com/cart/addcart.asp?Try=Yes&itemID=502383&itemTYPE=cat&session=xprwatch

This is a 1GB laptop stick at $449 before shipping.

With the high cost of this sort of memory (especially compared to 512 chips, it begs the question: why do you need more than 1 GB?

Are you running a server? Are you doing 3d Design. I've Windows XP and done alot of tasks and have never used more than 940 MB of memory doing anything.
