View Full Version : What category should headphones go under?

Since we just added our first headphone review, I was unsure about which section to put them under. MP3 and Digital audio, or Home audio? Right now it is under home audio, But I am leaning towards the MP3 section.

What do you guys think?

Why not change MP3 to personal audio, like the forums are set up? Then speakers could go under Home Audio and headphones under Personal Audio.

I like that idea about personal audio.

This might not work...but just a thought...

Maybe a "sub-forum" in "Personal Audio" which can be dedicated to accessories, such as headphones? Maybe call it "gear" or something of that nature?

I like it, but maybe save it for when there's more stuff in there. I can't think of too many accessories other than maybe headphone amps and fm transmitters. I think it just looks better to have filled sections rather than a few empty ones.

Good idea about the review category. I think there isn't enough talk for a headphone specific forum though.

there will never be empty review categories. the site is designed to not show a category unless it has content. :)

Qnother question: What about headsets with microphones? I feel like I should add these to the computer section. Thoughts?

I think headsets with microphones should be in a separate group so that it can cover both computer headsets and cell phone headsets... at least without getting mixed up with headphones and microphones.

We can create sections called, PC headsets, Cell phone headsets and move them into those categories.

Hrm, that is a sticky situation. Maybe:

Mobile phone headsets under Accessories in the Mobile Phones section.
Headphones with built in microphones in PC Accessories.
Stand alone Headphones in Home and Personal Audio, and PC Accessories.
Stand alone microphones in Home Audio Accessories, and PC Accessories.

Is it okay to add the same review to multiple sections? Otherwise, maybe a separate top level section of Audio/Video/Multimedia Accessories?
