Does anyone have one or know someone with one of these?

I'd like to know how well they perform. From the reviews I read online, they have good image quality. I am wondering though, will any lower quality video inputs be enhanced? For example, if I were to connect an older video game console to it, would the image quality be more like that of a normal TV? My current TV tuner card is horrible and makes things extremely blurry. I've found out that all TV tuner cards of this type have the same problem.

Any info/experiences you've had would be appreciated, thanks.

Here is a good list (http://www.techadvice.com/help/Products/T/tvTunerCards.htm) of the different TV cards available.

I also found a good description of HDTV and Monitors (http://www.everythingcomputers.com/PCS/additions_print.htm) here that might help some of us.

Here is a link to what (http://www.techtv.com/screensavers/answerstips/story/0,24330,2434991,00.html) TechTV thinks about adding a HDTV card to your computer.

I found the AccessDTV HDTV Tuner Card Overview (http://www.zdnet.com/supercenter/stories/overview/0,12069,528889,00.html) that might be helpful. It was highly rated, although only 19 people voted for it.

Dude!

You don't need an HDTV capture card to record video consoles!

Those consoles are designed to output 480i at 60fps. Not 61fps or 198fps. Exactly 60fps. And not 720p or 1080i, but 480i. Most kids aren't going to be plugging their PS2 / Gamecube into an HDTV set....

As for recommendation, get an ATI AIW. They go for about $160 now for an 8500DV and around $120 for the 7500AIW.

I capture great satellite videos with those. Best of all, you could capture straight to VCD-MPEG1 format or DVD-MPEG2 format. No need to re-encode.
