My koolance case runs too hot when its 100 degrees out, i cant run stressful apps or my system crashes.
I might buy a radiator stick it in a chest full of ice and connect it to my circulatory system so i can game when its hot.... obviously a temporary fix only.
I always though it'd be cool if someone made small freezers that your case could fit in, but theres condensation issues and such, but it occured to me a mini freezer with a large radiator would be able to cool enough water you could cool your entire system (hdd's and all) at low temps with very low noise.
You could throw out all your fans.
Good idea?
eh eh? :rock
No you have to keep- the fans. Its the only way to have air move around the box.
As for frig units, they have them, and with no condensation, as there is no moisture. There is one that drops standard chip temps to -20 for overclocking.
You idea is fair, but they have a water system that attaches to the CPU, that removes the heat also.
NOW, basic tech:
How does a frig unit work? HEAT.
Look at your refrig in the kitchen, there is a radiator in the back that gets fairly Hot. You need someplace to put this where it wont bother the comp. I would think a wood panel at least to seperate it from exposing this heat to the case in any way, but this heat is then released into the air. This add's heat to your comp area/room/house.
Best way to absorb heat is a heat sink, water cooled, freon, what ever to the items creating the heat, and then pumping this heated material someplace to loose this heat. As for water, into a tank with some ice or coolant. but you need a small puump to be efficent. you might consider a Cold radiator in the system with a fan behind it, to cool the system, but you need the airflow in the case to move it around, means another fan at least, esp if you are not in contact with the heated surface of the hot items.

Well I already know of the vapochill system but this only chills the processor while all the other components must be air cooled. Processor speeds goes way up but noise level doesnt drop. And it does have condensation, they protect the motherboard by installing a foam rubber mat around the cpu. and underneeth as well.
In my Koolance PC2-601 the water is cooled by 3-40mm fans pulling air through a radiator. When the ambient room temp is 100F and my 1860mhz processor is dumping its heat in the water, my system is struggling to bring that water temp down.
So my idea is just a more agressive approach at cooling the water by pumping it through a seperate freezer.
Then I would consider, an ice pack on the water cooler.
They have these LARGE gel packs for backs, and laying on, should find them at Pharmacies, about $8 each.
Either that, or figure a way to add another Inline cooler box with ICE in it. Only need a few pieces. A small cooler, with the radiator line into it, then out to the comp. Add some ice and away you go.
