radeon 9700 pro owned IRL

Hay, I just got a radeon 9700 pro. I sloted the mother in and my PC boots up ok, but that is about the only thing it does, right from the post there is wierd artifacts all over the screen r's appear as w's and there is just crap all over. When windows boots up there are heaps of horizontel lines all over the place.

Is my card completly ****ed? I havnt touched the bios or done anything to it at all, it came out the box like this :(

Do you have a powerful enough powersupply? I would also check your AGP settings in the BIOS to make sure they are running correctly. I.E Fast Write, etc
