XP disables my mic i tihnk

ive been having this problem for ahwile, every now and then XP will just stop using my mic. or soemthing. ill be talking , and then literally like 30 seconds later, my mic wont pick up any sound. at all, in any program. ive tried ****ering with my settings but i think theres more i could do that i dont know of, and im 100% sure everything is plugged in correctly.

im using onboard from my a7n8x

and my dx is 9.0a

o and my a7n8x doesnt have the latest drivers, cuz im not sure what i have to uninstall before i can install them, like, can i just install right over? i dont think i can

Do you have more that one program which controls your mic? I found that Windows conflicts with Team Speak and my Winamp input (mic) settings a lot of the time and I have to figure out which one to enable in order to get my mic to work.

My problem is DX 9, REALLY sucks bad.
And the only way to remove it is to REINSTALL everything.
DX 9, is still beta. you are advised ONLY to load it if you dont like your system. The newsgroups have had LOTS of complaints. Esp, how to remove it if it dont work.

Can you give us a time frame, of when you started having probs.. What was loaded before and after this started happening??

ok i went out and bought dsp500's lol. problem fixed. it apparently was the mic, which i had cheaply cut+pasted ( literally, except wiht electrical tape) off a monoaural headset.

but so far i havent had any problems from dx9.... what about it?

I like the condencor mics, out of Phones handsets.. Very good.
Or find an OLD tape recorder...Those are Very dynamic, and catch every sound.
