I am thinking of selling my Apple computer and purchasing a Sony PCV-W500GN1. I currently own a Mac G4 Quicksilver 800 with the 17" Apple LCD.
I have been very happy with OS X and iTunes. The things that I do not like about my G4 are: the size, noise, and screen resolution. The new Sony seems like a computer I will find more useful. It has a large hard drive, a TV tuner, DVD burner, Giga Pocket to record video, remote control, plenty of inputs and outputs to connect to a stereo or TV, and a faster processor. On top of all that it has a nice wide screen LCD, small footprint, silent CPU, excellent styling, and a fair price. The only thing it lacks is a faster hard drive (5,400 rpm vs 7,200) and a better video card. I mainly use my computer for digital photography, audio, and database. I have received some great comments from IOMAN and was wondering if any of you had any comments to offer. I know that there are those who are Mac fanatics and would never consider switching to Windows. I previously owned a Sony GRX laptop with Windows XP and never had a single problem. There will be more options with software and music downloads on the Windows platform I am told. Thanks in advance

yup, much more options for music and software. a lot more freeware and shareware apps as well. I would look into upgrading that hard drive into a faster rpm one.

hmm stay away from either then. If you want a Windows based PC and want to upgrade it, stay away from the Sony. Looks for a small yet upgradeable media center PC.
