I am in the process of purchasing a Sony PCV-W500GN1 computer. I need help from this forum to compare the specs between the Sony and a Mac G4 that I currently own.

Sony
P4 2.66 Ghz
512K level 2 Cache
400Mhz system bus
512K PC 2700 DDR RAM
160 GB Ultra ATA 5,400RPM Hard Drive
SiS 651 Integrated Graphics 32MB VRAM
Giga Pocket
DVD Recorder
17" LCD (resolution?)
Windows XP

Apple G4
800 Mhz G4 Processor
256K level 2 Cache
133Mhz system bus
1.25GB PC 133 SDRAM
120GB Western Digital Special Edition HD
ATI Radeon 7500 Graphics 32MB VRAM
Pioneer AO5 DVD recorder
M-Audio Revolution 7.1 Audio card
Apple 17" LCD 1280x1024 resolution
Mac OS X Jaguar

I mainly use my computer for audio, digital photography, database, and web surfing. I plan to use the computer to watch DVD's and TV but do not play computer games. What is Giga Pocket?
Is it a useful component?
The Sony seems to be a nice computer for my needs, it has a lot of the features that I want and is small and quiet. I do plan to upgrade the RAM on the Sony. Thanks

hmm I think these are both two different ro be comparable. If you are a casual user go with the sony, if you want hardcore applications and use, go with the Apple.
