How do I get Nero to burn at 48x (Using Lite-on 48x12x48)?

I've just updated nero to the latest version (5.5.9.9) but my CD Writer only allows 32X burning. Any ideas?
I understand that the latest Lite-on drives autodetect the maximum speed of the medium, but I thought that was done on the fly rather than before burning starts...

It probably detected 32x as the best write speed for that DRIVE.
As Lite-on drives tend to overstate speeds..
Which Lite-on drive, read the manufactour on it...there are 3 or 4 different ones. Buffer size on the drive?

Also keep in mind that Nero won't let you burn faster than the media is certified at. If you've popped in a 32x max cd-r, and went looking for the 48x burn option, you won't find it. If however you do have media capable of burning at 48x then see what ECA said above :)
