(the jist-Kazaa uses a a crap hashing technique, which is what it uses to identify files as the same file so you can dl from multiple sources at once. The RIAA is seeding bad mp3s exploiting this. Not a bad idea. Gotta give em credit on this one.

Although all Kazaa has to do is update the program with full file hashing, and add a column to the search screen labeled "verified", and you know if you're downloading a possibly tainted mp3.

A easy checksum system will kill RIAA.

I've been having that problem lately, but its pretty easy to tell which files are fake before you download them
