I dont know, it just doesn't do anything for me. The design leaves something to be desired I guess. What do you guys think?

Yea, don't really care for that much. Personally, I'm digging the new Alienware Laptop.

You know, I think that the Alienware laptop is actually made by Sager too. Or at least I would not be surprised. The last VoodooPC and Alienware laptops that came out where SAger based and looked nearly identical, they were just painted.

Well, as hypocritical as that makes me sound I still prefer these new Alienware models. I think the new Alienware came out today... I'm customizing one as I'm typing this.

actually both alienware and sager are made by the same company called Clevo as in www.clevo.com.tw. All in all very good systems, as far as I have read

Thanks for the link, and welcome to the Designtechnica forums.

I was watching the show Jake 2.0 the other night and the doctor in that show uses this very same laptop. They make the screen look so vibrant in the show too. I wonder if its real or their video editor is just "placing" what they want you to see.

In anycase, the laptop does look pretty cool.

one thing to note.. that alienware laptop weight 7.5 pounds w/out the battery. thats a hefty notebook i would not want to carry around for more then an hour.

Even the Apple PowerBook 17" is too heavy for my liking (one of the company's owners got one and I helped her set it up) and I was amazed at how heavy it actually was.

Anything over 6 pounds is too heavy for me, even if it does have all of the bells and whistles (like the 17" PowerBook).

I'm looking into getting one of their models...

I basically want a portable desktop... none of that 1.6ghz centrino nonsense for me...

of course, with the full pentium 4 in these things, the battery life sucks pretty bad, but I can deal.

however, if I did want a typical laptop with a mobile pentium M/centrino cpu type deal, I'd definitely go for a Toshiba.
they are durable, reliable, and simply work well.

what's good about a portable desktop like the sager models is the beefed up video you can get, such as 128mb DDR, which is an important factor in my overall decision.

and a cpu over 3.0 is good too.
