New Vpr Notebooks On The Way?????

Hey guys...I was in BestBuy today asking the salesman about the 220A5. He told me that VPR is introducing a new 15" notebook any day now, and a widescreen shortly after...both with integrated wireless. That is about all the information he could give me though. Does anyone have any more info? If so please tell...because I need a notebook soon, but would like to hold out for the new widescreen if it comes out soon enough. If you know any details about these new notebooks please tell! THANKS! Also, if anyone has any comments on the compaq X1000 that would be great to as I'm considering ordering one through Costco. Thanks.

Can't wait to see them, but certainly won't buy one from all the bad stuff I have heard about the company.

Wasn't it officially announced that bestbuy is no longer continuing the development of their notebooks due to pressure from competing notebook manufacturers?

Can anybody else confirm that new models are going to be released?

Can't confirm that, I know they stopped production of their laptops for a period of time but that doesn't mean they'll totally quit making the line. Plus, there were rumors going around that BB settled a deal with whoever was complaining(HP I think) so that they could continue to make laptops.

the x1000 is great. it's very big, but really nice and works well. much more expensive, though.

as for VPR, the company operates by way of rumor. there was MONTHS of talk before the 220A5 came out. for all i know, the new one will come out tomorrow, but don't be surprised if it doesn't come out for a few more months or not at all.
