Well ive read some reviews on this dvd writer and have a few queries....
After reading the specs ,found that the device has not got a thumb wheel , lol so thats one less thing to play with and oh also it doesnt have a phone jack on it either, do the people that write the specs for devices just take a guess on what the device actually has or not have.
Anyway,getting to the point.
I bought mine from an outlet called PC WORLD
What was in the box?
Ide ribbon, fixing screws,cd(with pinnacle studio etc and 1 blank dvd+R
being jet black and only an indent of a button on the front and green led with protective film to keep grubby hands from messing up the facia, thats about all there is for looks
speed wise. Its pretty nippy,One thing must be said theyre accurate on the performance review
so what about software.
ok lets all pause a moment,Alot of burning software, infact all is OUT OF DATE, so the chances of it supporting the device is slim, this is down to the software developers,(How up to date are they on hardware)
lucky for me i invested in nero 6 and that works ok,ulead dvd works ok,roxio works ok.
As of the time of writing this review Record now max/platinum doesnt
So they are obviously not up to date as the rest of us are
So in PC WORLD i payed £220 maybe be a bit on the expensive side as i know there are cheaper dvd writers around but hey this does both +R and -R discs as well as RWs
Would i recommend it, well im a firm believer in getting what you paid for so ,
Nice looking, fast ,effeciant, multi format and if the pocket stretches go for it
