We've had a lot of talk recently of many personal audio devices, especially MP3 players.
Just wanted to see what kind of cans everyone is using with their audio devices.
Right now I'm still using the stock Apple iPods.
I've been thinking heavily getting one, if not both, of these:
Sony MDR-V700DJ (http://www.sonystyle.com/is-bin/INTERSHOP.enfinity/eCS/Store/en/-/USD/SY_DisplayProductInformation-Start;sid=wApw8qYG6h1wz5lgl3N6-ekWlAweY8xC4U4=?CategoryName=pa_Headphones_CDSerie sStudioMonitor&ProductSKU=MDRV700DJ&Dept=pa)
and/or
Shure E2c's (http://www.shure.com/earphones/eseries_e2c.asp)
Share what ya got! :)

I have two Sennheiser headphones at home: an HD570 and an HD580. I occassionally bring the HD570 to work and use it with my Nomad Jukebox 3.
The HD580 stays at home and I generally use it with my laptop or my main computer.

Ive had these for 4 yrs
They work as well as they did the day i bought them. i use them more then 40hours a week and they run for 8 hours between charges. Headphones are a must in my apartments, and i enjoy the wireless because i can jump up and goto the bathroom without missing a beat.
for $80 it was one of the best invenstments ive ever made
RCA Whp150 (http://www.rca.com/product/viewdetail/0,2588,PI53-CI211,00.html)
Plz, if you use Sony, check Sennhouser, Denon(upper brand), and the more expencive ones. Its worth it.
Forget those ones with the SUPER BASS. Music just dont soound that way. Unless you live in a kettle drum.

I use MDR-V700DJ on my PC, but for portable devices I use the MDR-EX70SL

yeah I was considering getting the MDR-V700DJ's for PC use....would also like them to use while up at school, but they are not as portable as the EX70's or the Shure E2's.
lol....a lil off topic but I saw a vid clip last week of two hot girls kissing while wearing the 700's. What a way to sell a product :)

Question for those with the Sony 700's....
How comfortable is it? Especially after a few hours?

I use the Sennheiser 400 for general use and the Koss 'The Plug' for on the road. The Koss buds nicely isolate sounds from outside so you can enjoy your music without turning the volume level up too much.
For the Koss I use a less bass as possible because they tend to have very loud basses and I increase the treble a bit. Actually I use my own WOW (user) settings:
SRS: 3
TrueBass: 2
Focus: High
Boost: 40khz
For the MX400 I use also not too much bass, too loud and too much bass is tiring you very quick.
SRS settings:
SRS: 3
TrueBass: 6
Focus: Low
Boost: 40khz
I use the iRiver iHP-100

I used the same pair of AKG K240 Monitor series headphones for over 10 years and only recently did they completely succumb to my abuse.
I used them for everything from the multi-track recording which they were intended for, to gaming, and to general music listening enjoyment.
They will soon be replaced with the K240 Studio series.
Over an extended period of wear (several hours in a row), they're probably not the most comfortable headphones around, but I can hang with that because the quality and clarity of sound is superb.
Worth every penny.

Your link didn't work, so I attached the picture and posted the specs:
"The K 240 Monitor are classic hi-fi stereo headphones and one of the best-selling models from AKG, famous for their natural, pristine sound. The major benefits of these semi-open headphones with dynamic full-range speakers include a punchy bass range, clear highs, and excellent comfort. 600 ohms impedance for special studio applications (connecting many headphones in parallel)."
600 ohms impedance
Self-adjusting headband for optimum fit
Single cable for ease of use
Semi-open, circumaural design

Do they still make these? I wonder how they would compare to the Grado headphones reviewed here.

Thanks for putting that info in. I noticed my link didn't work and thought I had saved an edit with just AKG's main page.
Yeah they still do make the K240Ms; they've been in use for years.
However, the K240S series has some different specs, such as 55ohms (don't have to turn up the volume as loud) and the cable can detach from the headset.

the above link is just for info.. I can't vouch for their service as I've never shopped there. The price however, is typical -- you don't see these headphones on sale. (although I did get my first set way back for free ;) )
And I've never tried anything from Grado...

I use Senn HD580s for my PC and stereo. Big clunkers, but the best phones I've heard.
For bed I have my Shure E2c. Really helps you get lost in the music.
For exercise I use Koss KSC-35s. Excellent bass, a little tight, but $35. If they break, no biggie.
My next cans will probably be the Pioneer XB1. Those things look sweet!
It all depends on what type of music you like, and the places you intend to use them. I wouldn't use my Shures to jog, since I wouldn't hear any cars coming. I wouldn't use the Senns in bed (not like that sickos), since they would be too clunky.
So, what are you using these for besides the iPod? What is your price range? What type of music will you be listening to?
