I need some serious help getting my GeForce4 MX 420 on my vprMatrix 220A5. I wiped out the OS (went for a clean XP Pro install) when I first bought it and now cannot get the display properties to recognize 1280x854.

My second monitor (I am guesing my S-Video out, has every display setting under the sun), but not monitor 1.

My question is this:

Starting clean, what is the best method to get a working set of NVIDIA drivers on the 220A5.

Thanks in advance for any help.

You can get the drivers from the VPR Matrix web site.

The problem is that the display driver only goes to 1154 by 768 or something. There are 2 adapters/monitors and monitor 2 has a lot more settings, etc.

I tried restoring from the restore CD and still have the problem. The vprmatrix screen shows up off center and to the left. Why can't I get 1280 by 854???

The problem was actually either my video card or my LCD screen. THe screen was stuck at 1152x768, with black on the right and bottom and just kept scanning/cycling, like an old montior trying to ru at a high resolution.

I took it into the local Best Buy and since it was under 2 months old, they shipped it off to get repaired.

How long do repairs take on the VPR matrix? Has anyone ever just received a new laptop if there VPR could not be repaired? I was told the turnaround would be 10-14 days, but was just curious if anyone had personal experiences.

Thanks,

It ook me 4 months when I took mine into Best Buy. You should have called VPR Matrix directly.

Just purchased the VPR 220a5 a week ago. Slowly tweeking it to my preferences.

The display driver from the VPR website is not the latest. And I suspect the other drivers are out of date also. Still have not been able to install 200A5_USB_wakeup ( whatever that is for, I don't know ).

As one of the previous replies had pointed out, just get the latest GeForce4 420 Go 32M driver from www.NVidia.com.

It takes a little digging, but once installed, you will have your 1280x854 plus the ability to run DVD movies without the skip/skip every 5 seconds if you had used the display drivers from the VPR website.

GoodLuck.
