Its pretty cool to see a major player like Pioneer working with the computer industry.

And I see Microsoft trying to get their drity little hands even more into the home theatre market. I'm also guessing that if WMA 9 Professional gets included in the SPDIF specification (as noted in the article) that it will add to the stench that is DRM and copy-restriction.

if they're going to get involved, why limit themselves only to content from WMP 9? What a waste... They should support all of the formats or not bother.

Could be that Microsoft paid them to not include other formats ;)
