I just saw this movie today, and let me say that this is the best movie of the year so far. If you like action you’ll be bombarded with it. If you like violence and gore, you’ll be sick of it after watching an hour and forty-five minutes of it. Plus, it’s a Tarantino flick so there’s substance behind the violence. That substance is a great story of revenge mixed in with very dry humor. Who doesn’t love a good revenge picture? But wait, there’s more! Yuen Wo-Ping (Matrix; Matrix: Reloaded; Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon) choreographs all the amazing fight scenes. There is one scene in the film that took them a year to plan out! And to top it off, it’s all a bunch of hot chicks playing with blades and guns and getting dirty. Kill Bill Volume 1 kicks a lot of a**, literally and figuratively. I can't wait to see the conclusion in January.
I give it 9.75/10.00

Wow, great mini-review Mikey, I will go check it out ASAP. I think I am watching the Run Down tomorrow night with the Rock in it. Did you see this movie too? Was it any good?

Yeah I want to go see Kill Bill Volume 1 sometime this weekend or upcoming week.
Hey Ian, I saw Rundown this week, it's great. You should definitely go see it :)
Also, skip House of the Dead...unless you have $8.50 you're really itching to get rid of and two hours to kill lol. At least it had guns in it...

You definitely should see the Rundown...who doesn't like Stiffler? hehe
Kill Bill was awsome, saw it last night, it's like Reservoir dogs meets Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon...lol! Definitely worth my 9 bucks.

The Rundown is what it is: a solid buddy action-comedy. Luckily, I like these kinds of films for their mindless escapism. I can just sit down for ninety minutes or so, just turn off my brain and enjoy the ride. The only way to mess up a buddy action-comedy is bad casting and unnecessary action/chase sequences. This film had neither. The Rock definitely has what it takes to be the next big action star. It was only fitting that the “Govern-ator” made a cameo to pass the torch down to the multi-time former WWE champion. The Rock has found his niche in the movie business, and he should embrace the idea of co-starring with comedic actors (a la Chan and Wilson or Chan and Tucker.). Seann William-Scott was hilarious in this picture. He managed to entertain even without the lewd and homo-erotic behavior we’re so used to with him. But don’t get me wrong, the Stif-meister is still #1 in my book. The villain was awesome played by the great, but creepy Christopher Walken. I love this guy! Whatever he touches turns to gold. He can be scary like in the Prophecy movies, or he can be hilarious like in Joe Dirt or in SNL. In The Rundown he was both. The casting was tremendous. The overall film was a blast, and there weren’t any ridiculously long and pointless action/chase sequences. I smell a sequel.
I give The Rundown a 7.25/10.00.
I am anxious to see kill bill also!
