Bought this movie this weekend. Excellent acting although I have to admit the movie is kind of boring. What exactly is Solaris? Is it a god of some sort? An energy source that is living?

Solaris is a commercial UNIX operating system made and distributed by Sun Microsystems, which is based on SunOS (which in turn was based on BSD) and has since been made to conform to System V UNIX.
Solaris supports 32-bit and 64-bit SPARC processors and x86 processors (official AMD64 support is in the works).
