Frustration with Microsoft is prompting more companies to consider "un-Windows" alternatives, according to a study released Tuesday.

"Corporate user resentment and dissatisfaction with Microsoft and some of its practices is at an all-time high," says Laura DiDio, senior analyst with the Yankee Group and the report's author. That frustration is pushing more companies to consider Linux-based operating systems as well as Apple's OS X, she says.

consider anything made as OEM from MS, is NOT supported by MS.. No customer service, no support.
If comapnies Put Windows or its products on there comps and sell them, WHO is responsible for it, the updates, upgrades, and anything windows Gives them after the purchase. NOt windows.
SO, if they supply Linux, or other OS. the users generally dont worry about this support from Services they DONT really need, or dont know they need. funny..
If they have a problem who do they go to... NO-ONE, or they have to search the net. WOW, maybe a smarter consumer.
Updates from Windows?? Hmm... How do we know we need hem. we dont know. Most Software for manny of the othere OS's GENERALLY come out and work GREAT and as they are written. Bugs are NOT, a problem, as The makers of the program KNOW if there are bugs, the program WILL NOT SELL. With windows(how manny updates have YOU had) they have released so manny updates to there software(15 for MS office in 2 years) that its a job, just to HOPE it works. MS, is getting REAL sloppy..
