I guess I'm unlucky, besides having the screen buzz, I'm also getting a new, very annoying sound from my VBR, it sounds like a high pitched squeal coming from under the keyboard. I have a feeling it's the HD because everytime the disk is accessed the sound changes in intensity. if anyone else has this problem or has fixed it, please let me know! Thanks

My screen's a buzzing too. What's with this ? Is it normal?

The screen buzz is common. If you're adventurous, you can fix it yourself. Do a forum search for "screen buzz" and you should be able to find the instructions on make the adjustment.

The VPR drive makes the same type of chattering noise that is common with notebook computers. A high-pitched squeal might indicate a problem and you may want to have the computer looked at. The hard disk is located under the front left of the computer, just left of the touchpad, if you can localize the sound. The only moving part actually under the keyboard is the CD drive.

The noise that you are getting from the HD, I think, is normal. Mine makes the same noise as well (you can only hear it when it's quite?). I have had a few VPR's (all within 2 weeks) becuase I kept getting bad pixels in my screen. The others that I had make the same noise as well. Besides, laptops are noisy by nature. I did have the screen noise and followed the fix it and it didn't completely go away (I can still hear it when I put my ear to the back of the LCD), but enough that I don't hear it.

yes I did find somewhat of a solution by maxing out the
brightness level of the screen with an Fn F1.
