Interesting.
Dont I have enough on my machine already?

I have 1 contention.
I see so many passwords that I have learned to generalize my passwords. I have learned tricks to do this and it works. Making random passwords and trying to remember them, without writing them down, could lead to a great deal of paper work. DOES this program have a HARD printout of passwords. A way to print them out so you can keep a copy somewhere?
If your system goes down, or you loose this prog, or you loose your cookies(yes cookies and not on the KB), you would loose the passwords, and have to hunt them at all the sites again.

For answers to your questions, I will direct you to this link. http://www.roboform.com/ai.html

On edit: On that page which I linked to, it clearly stated this about printing a list of your passwords.
Print a List of your Passwords
Print a list of all your Passcards and get your precious passwords backed up to the most reliable medium -- paper. You can also print a list of Identities.

Random Password Generator Expert is a full-featured and powerful, yet small and handy application able to generate passwords of any length and character content. The program may be used by network administrators, webmasters, internet service providers - all those who need to create and administer password protected systems.

This application allows a security conscious network administrator or developer the choice of generating random passwords up to 80 characters in length and in any combination of four character types: upper- and lowercase letters, numeric characters and special characters (such as #, ^, & etc. - the set of characters is customizable, you may specify which characters you want to use).

Random Password Generator Expert can save passwords in plain text, HTML or comma-separated format. The number of unique passwords amounts to 90,000,000,000 providing reliable defense from rough-force attacks.

Then use this to encrypt that file.

And this program to safely remove the text from your hard disk.

http://www.tolvanen.com/eraser/

Eraser is a secure data removal tool, which allows you to remove sensitive data from your hard drive by overwriting it with carefully selected patterns.

The program is free software, which means that everyone has access to the source code, the freedom to study it, make modifications and even distribute modified versions of their own. This freedom has made Eraser one of the most trustworthy and popular security tools for Windows.

I thought Gator was a spyware program, why would you want an alternative?

Yep, its spyware, yep.
So are most of the software out there.
Even weatherbug.
And napster.
The DL managers, most anything with adverts IS spyware.
SO, why would you WANT it.

GATOR, TRY to remove GAIN from your system.

Functionality
Fills in passwords for you and shows you a lot of ads.

Description
Upon visit of some Gator related pages, it tries to download and install. According to Tribune Media Services (via http://www.securitynewsportal.com/ via http://www.cexx.org/gator.htm): "Gator tracks the sites that users visit and forwards that data back to the company's servers. Gator sells the use of this information to advertisers who can purchase the opportunity to make ads pop up at certain moments, such as when specific words appear on a screen. It also lets companies launch a pop-up ad when users visit a competitor's Web site."
And Gator saves your identity in the HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\CLSID section of the registry - good place to hide, if you've got something to hide.

Privacy
Some information we may collect, use, and associate with your Anonymous ID includes:
Which web pages your computer views and how much time is spent at those sites
Your response to the ads we display
Standard web log information and system settings
What software is on your computer
Your first name, country, and five digit ZIP code
Your GAINware usage characteristics and preferences
Information associated with your Anonymous ID is used in any of three ways: a) to offer assistance (e.g. knowing when to offer help filling in a form or adjust your computer's clock), b) to select and deliver installation files for optional new GAINware and/or third party software applications, and c) to deliver advertisements and information to you on behalf of our advertisers who are often competitors of the web sites you are viewing.

TG,
You want a small file on your machine with ALL your pass codes??
And then your cookies to auto sign in also???

I found a trick for a new password on every site, I wont place it here. But I have a new one for almost every site, and I dont have to write it down.

The APC Biometric Password Manager is pretty sweet device. I think it is a good start but had some questionable security issues that I didn't understand how it worked. Here is our review

http://reviews.designtechnica.com/user_reviews1541.html

The American Express Blue card can store passwords and form info on the blue part of the card and automatically fill them in when you visit sites as long as you have the card plugged into the reader thing.

card readers are cool, but you DONT want to loose it, everything has to be reset.

I have seen fingerprint types that REALLY encrypt your data, and your comp wont work without them... Like a dongle.

See here if you want to argue about the Biometric unit. The security issues are addressed there.

Some laptops use it as a encrypting device. Thats what it was designed for in the first place. To be used as a dongle.
With out it you couldnt start the laptop.
