Hello, I currently own the vprMastrix 220A5. When I first recieved the laptop in September the battery was lasting for at least 3.5 hours on a full charge. Now its not even lasting 1 hour. Out of curiosity, I ran the "Battery Calibration" program in the BIOS (which did not fix my problem, but) which told me my mAh of the battery was ~2400. Now I KNOW this is a 6600mAh battery.
Wtf happened to 2/3 of my battery capacity? Anyone else seeing this problem? How is vpr to deal w/ in getting something like this fixed? I require this machine and its data for my job and cannot part with it for very long.:(

I have a 200A5 and the same thing happened to me. My battery life has declined to about 20 minutes, so I called VPR and complained to them. They are shipping me a replacement battery.
This seems to be a common problem, there was another thread about it a few months ago. I wont be surprised if my replacement battery also deteriorates similarly.
There is something many persons do not know about rechargable batteries.
HOW to make them LAST.
You need to condition them the first 10 times.
Charge them up and Discharge them, THEN attach something to them that will suck the power down to almost nothing.
THEN recharge again.
This should be done the first 10 times, and the batteries will last along time.
Its interesting that Battery memory starts at the bottom of the battery, not from the top. IF it AINT drained, it forgets it HAD that power.
Are these 12 volt?? If they are, get alligator clips and attach a Car head light to them to suck them down. Diconnect BEFORE the light goes out, when its Still a spark of light. If its drained to NOTHING, you may not get it to work again.
You can REFRESH the batteries this way also. By doing the SAME thing.
REMEMBER this must be done 10 times.
PS, this dont work with Lithium batteries.

Uhm.. heh...
Pretty much all rechargable batteries are Lithium these days. Including the vprMatrix laptop batteries.
Lithiums are not supposed to have memory.. So this wouldnt happen. There are about 4 different types of rechargables. I DONT think these are full lithiums, if they have memory.
Try what I said. It makes my wireless phone batteries last about 2+ years.

Lithium ION batteries are not supposed to do this because they do not have a memory. Maybe they are leaking somehow?
I have heard of other brand laptops having the same issue. I used to have an old Toshiba laptop which could never keep a charge and it had a Lithium Ion battery too. I think this is pretty normal guys.

Yeah this is not right. Did you buy your system used or on clearance? I wonder if the battery has been used before. Perhaps there is a power leak somewhere on your system. In any case, have VPR send you a new one and hopefully that will solve your problem.

Yeah, bought brand new from BestBuy.com. I've been talking w/ vprMatrix and I believe they are going to send me a new one. I'm just afraid if the same thing happens again... I mean, this warranty only lasts for a year.

While LiIon doens't have a memory, the battery will rapidly deteriorate if left plugged in after it is fully charged. This is the nature of rechargables. A new battery is $150 from Best Buy.
