Dang and I saw one of these at CES last year. I was under the impression that is was more of a gimick than a mass produced product. It looks like Philips is trying to sell it afterall. Why not just use a laptop that you can modify? $1200 still seems pretty steep, but i suppose that if you have an expensive home theater setup, this is probably worth it.

my buddy has something similar and swears by it. i can see how much time it saves when you macro 1 button to turn everything on etc...

Yes youd have to set your own macro's, and it wouldnt be a touch screen.
