howdy yall
my girlfriend just got an iPod for Christmas, and her and I both hate it. It has too many design flaws, and other schtuff that I dont feel like getting into.
Anyways, what are some suggestions for an alternative player? Creative? Rio? Looking for something similar in size, shape, and capacity (over 10gb).
w00t ;)
theres a thread about gateway being nicer..

not yet
Archon,
I'm still spouting about the iRiver iHP-120, even though they still haven't sent one for review. I think it "appears" nice, and the features are pretty cool (fm tuner, voice recording, ogg support, etc) and has a 20GB drive.

I'd definitely consider the iRiver also.

Just like to say hi to everyone here, these seem like great forums, im not trolling just intersted as to exactly what you think the design problems are?

well, lets see, its fcking freezing in NH for 8 months out of the year, and its pretty damn hard to use an iPod with even the smallest of gloves, is the main gripe. But I've no need to explain to you. ;)
The iHP-120 looks oooo *drool*
oh, she ended up keeping the iPod

No way, the Gateway is a rebandged eOdessey or whatever, and I think the eodessey is a rebadged Digital Way MPIO player.
The iRiver looks like the best but there are hardly anyone posting what they think about it. Is anyone actually buying the iRiver?!?

I am. I think its the best way to go, has ogg support, and you dont need any POS program to use it, ur PC just thinks its an external hard drive, plug it in, copy ur sht over and play. Nice.
and you can make playlists with winamp and copy those over too (sexcellent cause I only use winamp)

have you thought of selling this ipod that you hate so much?? ;) Or if anyone is selling one, let me know =)
the iRiver iHP-120 is supposedly one of the best selling HD based mp3 players. I can't imagine no one has an opinion of it.
