Make sure when creating the playlist, that you're choosing music files already on your player. Don't make playlists based on files on your computer. And when saving the playlist, save it directly to the iRiver. You're probably getting an error because the file paths are wrong.

Thank you very much, PoppyCorn.
Everything works fine now.

I have recently gotten a H120, and I am having troubles putting CD's on the player. Can anyone give me some info on how to do this?

You must rip them into a format the iRiver plays (mp3, wma, etc). Then, just copy & paste or drag them onto your player's drive icon through windows.

Any recommendation on a good program to rip the CD's? I tried to use CDex but wasn't having much success.

Also what is the best format to use when ripping?

I like dBpowerAMP for ripping CD's. That's just my preference, it's quick and easy and you can choose many different formats to rip to. The mp3 format is one of the more compatible audio formats and generally has very good audio and compression qualities.

I have no idea what is wrong with my iHP-120. It keeps turning on and off and freezing, and restarting it does nothing. I know I'll probably have to dump out my whole hard drive and I'll probably cry, but does anyone have any suggestions?

Well, it freezes before I can do anything. Plus, I wouldn't know how to format it. I tried checking for errors on the disk, using my computer, but it freezes before I can do anything.

Have you updated the firmware?

I have ver 1.4 but the latest is 1.6. Unfortunately, it freezes before I can even attempt to get new firmware.

I've got the 1.6 firmware upgrade for iR 120 and am still having a big problem creating playlists. I compiled a 1 track playlist in Winamp and saved it to the root drive of the player, making sure that track was already on the player. And still the message appears "error with playlist". What is wrong with this machine?
