Firewire problem

I bought a Sony digital camcorder and I have it connected with a 4 pin to 6 pin firewire. I can't get it to work. I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling the drivers and still no luck. In my Device Manager, I have "OHCI Compliant IEEE 1394 Host Contoller" and when I click Properties, I get "The This device cannot start. (Code 10)" It makes no difference if my camcorder is attached or not.

I have a VPR Matrix 253R and I'm using Win XP Home with all updates installed. Anyone with a solution please respond. Thanks.
