help with fiemware upgrade

Just bought this player today and stumbled across this sight while doing some searches for firmware updates. So far like the player. i tried upgrading the firmware but dont think it worked. extracted files to directory but cant get player to go to rcovery mode. tried just plugging player in with it off but it just takes me to the initial screen that says ready and version 1.5. held down play button as well.. I have noticed when i turn the player off and then back on it starts at the last track i was on. maybe it did upgrade but it still says 1.5 on screen. i also dont see any of the other features mentioned. any help appreciated.

on another not. i bought this player because it had line in recording. does anyone know if there is an adopter that will plug into the rca jacks of a cd player then ito the player

I posted this to a recent thread a couple of days ago:

"To start the player in recovery mode, plug one end of the USB cable to the USB port on your PC, then press and hold the Play button on the player and before it fully turns on, connect the other end of the cable to the player while keeping the Play button depressed. Your PC should recognize a new "recovery device" or something, it may ask you for drivers so keep the Samsung CD handy."

It might require some practice, though.

And if you see 1.5 on the screen, you haven't performed the upgrade to 5.7 yet. Also, my player came with the line cable for direct encoding. Check the package again, perhaps you missed it?

Hi, I just wanted to know what "line in direct encoding" means? It seems like a neat feature, but I have no idea what that means! Can someone explain it to me please? Thanks!

It means you can input 'normal' audio from a regular cd, tape, tv sound, etc. The player then makes the conversion to MP3 itself, without having to do anything on a PC.

Hiya there !!!

Could some of U possibly help me ???
My problem is, that while I was visiting KOREA I bought YP-55, but now, when Id like to do the upgrade Ive found a bit problematic, that the whole software is just and only in KOREAN language :-((( And as I dont speak KOREAN I can operate that soft. Could somebody please help me with send the ISO image of the CD with ENG versions of the programs ??? PLEASE !!! Im getting desperate !!!
