I loaded the player up to almost its full capacity. I have around ~20 MB left on the player. But now when I turn it on, it seems to take 10 seconds until I see the "yepp" logo and backlight to appear. Does this happen on your machines too? I think that is way too slow for music on the go...
P.S. I found a way to disable that annoying auto shut off! All you have to do is set the "auto shut off" time to 0 and it will never turn off! This is excellent news for me because I hate having to turn it back on all the time after I've finished taking my notes when I'm relistening to my lectures!!
Now, if only there were rechargeable batteries and an AC adapter, this would be an excellent player...

I think you should buy a battery charger and a pair of AAA rechargeable batteries.
It's very useful, if you take a model supporting AA & AAA batteries you will use them with other devices too (for example Cd player)
Samsung has released YP-55HR & YP-55VR coming with a battery charger too.
It's easy to find some models under 30€
bye
P.s. However this yepp doesn't support AC

The problem with getting AAA rechargables for the Yepp, is that I already have an expensive pair of rechargable AAs that I got for my Sony mp3/CD player. I wish the Yepp used AA batteries!!! It would be so much better because you wouldn't have to change batteries all the time.

Umm, personally i have a good charger for both AA/AAA and a pair of both AA and AAA rechargables. So no extra cost there, but you might want to get two AAA rechargables now so that you'll save in the long run. No point saying what your saying - I mean, 2 of these rechargables should last for a couple of years and they cost as much as a months supply of AAAs for two. So its definitely worth getting them ASAP if your going to use the Yepp for any length of time (esp for recording lectures, I do that myself too).
Oh and about the power off time: Its always taken between 10-11 seconds to load up my player from the moment I hit the On button to when the file starts playing. It loads faster though the lower the encoding rate I find, especially if its a Variable file since it can't figure out what to display.
