Hello all....

I saw to older gaming mice topics, but times change so here is a new one :D.

The thing is, I'm looking for a new mouse.

I'm playing Unreal Tournament online and need a fast and accurate mouse.
I have a normal Logitech Optical Wheel Mouse and a Logitech Cordless Optical MouseMan.
Both of them aren't good enough, te corded one is getting old and is a little damaged and has only 2 buttons.
The cordless one has more buttons but is suffering from great lag while making fast movements in UT.

My aiming is not so good so I need a steady mouse to aim with, but it should also be very fast to turn around with and react to sudden actions.

I'm looking at several mice but can't make up my mind, money isn't really the issue although I would prefer a cheap mouse over an expensive one offcourse ;).

These are the options:

Logitech MX 900:
This mouse has a fast optical engine and lots of buttons. But is the bluetooh connection faster then the original cordless tech?
Because I'm affraid it wil also lag.

Logitech MX 700:
Heard possitive things about this one... but doesn't it use the same cordless tech as my current Optical Cordless MouseMan?
Because in that case it will lag as well.

Logitech MX 500 and 310:
Both seem to be ok, is there any difference between them except for the buttons and looks?

Razer Viper:
Seems to be very fast.... but does it only have 2 buttons?

Razer Boomer Control:
They say it's designed for FPS gaming, that's a +.
But how about extra buttons?
And isn't the design a little uneasy?
Is it optical or with ball?

Razer Boomer Speed:
Designed for RTS etc. but they say it's also great for sniping?
For the rest same comments as the Control version above.

Belkin Nostromo n30:
Looks ugly, but is it worth calling itself a gaming mouse?
And is it with ball or optical?

Microsoft Wireless IntelliMouse Bluetooth:
I'm not really a Microsoft freak, but if this is a good mouse then why not?
Compareable with the MX 900 or not even close?

Microsoft Wireless IntelliMouse:
Same thing without bluetooth... is it worth taking a look at?

Well that was quite a story.... now I'd like to hear you guys :P
Cause I don't know what to do anymore.... give me some advise!

If you absolutely have to have cordless, you will want to go with the MX700. It is designed for gaming and works great without any lag. I am a very avid gamer and find it works with all games. The only catch is that you will not want to install MouseWare for this mouse if you game. I have heard of problems with this software mapping the buttons incorrectly. BUT, things could have changed in the 6 months since I review the MX700.

Here is my review: http://reviews.designtechnica.com/review17.html

Mice based on Bluetooth will lag quite a bit so I would stay away from them. If you don't mind a corded mouse, the Microsoft optical mice still work great for gaming.

I second the MX 700 suggestion--I doubt I"ll ever give it up and it's great for gaming. But of course you've never seen me play so my endorsement might not be all that worthwhile.

ONE question:

What CPU do you have? amout of ram? HD space?
you said you had lagg from your wireless mouse, so I'd like to know your system speed.
A system with out enough room will always lag. A slower system will always have lag on the mouse in games.

The MX 700 and the boomslang are supposed to be very good, but I have tried them. I like trackballs. And an old version of logitech trackball has come done to $20, digital, wired. Many ppl dont like trackballs, and they DO need to be gotten used to. Theres no Running out of space, and there are DPI to wonder about.
